Antenatal & Postnatal

Antenatal & Postnatal

Covid changed lots of things and one was this area, we used to hold weekly classes, but after covid the demand never returned, until 18 month later we had lots of enquiries, sadly by this time the space was filled with other classes.
The Antenatal class has changed into a workshop event, we don't do many of these due to demand, covering natural birthing techniques, stabilising the pelvis and diastase plus other occurring pain such as lower back. You can book the next workshop and events using the below tab. Antenatal workshops combine Yoga and Pilates, all together work in the preparation for birth. Pilates improves spinal and pelvic stability conditioning of the pelvic floor, including posture awareness, joint stability and supportive muscles. Pilates will help you maintain muscle strength and flexibility, helping in the prevention of lower back and pelvic pain. Yoga will help in the calming of the mind, body and breath uniting you and your baby as one, with gentle asana practices, meditation, relaxation and pranayama breathing techniques, helping improve your awareness of both you and your baby. Postnatal courses which were for six weeks are now also a workshop, you and your baby together working through yoga and Pilates, baby massage and calming techniques. Pilates for you – Stabilisation of joints, correction of posture after birth. Strengthening weakened abdominal and pelvic muscles. Diastase recovery the separation of the abdominal muscles. Yoga for you – relieves stress and strains on the mind and body. Internal care and cleansing through pranayama and bandha, gentle asana practice for you both. Breathing practices to calm baby, digestive techniques to help relieve baby, plus baby yoga and so much more. An afternoon of fun. These workshops don't always run sadly after the pandemic demand for this service vanished, and booking became very low. Always get in touch if you are interested, the more interested the more likely the workshops will go ahead.
You can join a pilates class at MBS, as we know this is proven to help mum to be, in physio style form of exercise.
